Slow Down

Whilst it is not always easy, I’m certain it’s usually a good idea to slow down a bit.

Now from someone that already lays in bed to much, slow down may not sound like sage advice. It is though, a great way of bringing clarity to any work you are producing.

So before you press that shutter button, stop for a minute. The picture you are about to take is just that, a picture. Surely whatever spurred you to pick up the camera is a lot more interesting and meaningful than that picture can be.

Whether you are with family or overlooking beautiful scenary, absorb the place you are in. The very fact that you reached for the camera should instantly tell you to slow down and savour the moment.

After you have stopped yourself from being snap happy, i’m sure any picture you take will have more impact. Not only that, because you savoured the moment just a little bit longer the memories attach to the image will be stronger. Slowing down will also have the added benefit of reducing the amount of technical errors that can easily be made with modern digital cameras.

So the next time you reach for the camera Slow Down and enjoy yourself.
